Enhanced online features available to AMO members and applicants on union's website

The first phase of integrating the union's new data management system into the online portal available to active members and applicants of American Maritime Officers via the AMO website is complete.

Active AMO members and applicants can log into the "Member Area" of the AMO website using their existing online credentials for the AMO Dispatching website.

Additionally, each member and applicant will be required to enter his or her Mariner Reference Number. The entirely numerical Mariner Reference Number can be found in the Merchant Mariner Credential on the photo page under the 'reference number' heading in the upper right corner.

Once logged into the "Member Area" of the AMO website, members and applicants will see two links at the top of the landing page. The first link, "Member Profile," provides the following information:

  • Member/applicant status and contact information
  • Expiration dates of key documents and credentials that you have filed with the union (these records reflect the information the union has on file for you and may not be current if you have not provided your most recent documents and credentials to the union)
  • For AMO members, the amount of dues paid and owed at the present time
  • For AMO applicants, the amount of initiation paid and owed, as well as the amount of dues paid and owed, at the present time
  • Shipping and registration status
  • Training certifications on file with the union (these records reflect the information the union has on file for you and may not be current if you have not provided all training certificates to the union)
  • Open jobs for which you are qualified (based on the documents, training records and certifications you have provided to the union)
  • Work history
  • Merchant Mariner Credential endorsements

The second link, "Member Statement," provides the total amount of dues owed at the present time. For applicants, the statement will also include the amount of initiation owed at the present time.

Both links require a short amount of time to load updated information from the AMO data management system, so members and applicants are asked to be patient after clicking the links as the information to be displayed is updated.

The Member Log In page on the AMO website now features links for active AMO members and applicants to register for an online user account and for resetting a lost or forgotten password.

Separately, for the time being, the complete online deep-sea job board for open jobs will remain available for AMO member and applicant review on the AMO Dispatching website.
