The large medium-speed roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Shughart stands ready for activation in Norfolk, Va. Ocean Ships, Inc. (OSI) operates the ship for Military Sealift Command and American Maritime Officers represents all licensed officers onboard the LMSR. OSI took over operation of the USNS Shughart from non-AMO company Patriot Contract Services. "An intensive two-year effort by AMO members brought the ship back to being fully certified and ready to go," wrote Chief Engineer Mo Oliver. "She is once again a national defense asset."
