AMO Headquarters closed due to Hurricane Irma; important STAR Center and AMO Plans information |

American Maritime Officers Headquarters in Dania Beach closed effective 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, and will remain closed September 7 and September 8 in preparation for Hurricane Irma, which is now tracking for a possible landfall in Florida.
After the storm has passed, a property assessment will be conducted and a determination will be made on resuming operations. Any status updates will be posted on the AMO Currents website. STAR Center STAR Center has announced all classes underway have been accelerated this week and will be completed on Thursday, September 7, after which all students will depart. No on site accommodation is available at STAR Center during tropical storm events and all students currently on site have made plans to move elsewhere. Classes for the week of September 11 to 15 have been canceled. It is uncertain if classes will be conducted the week of September 18 to 22. AMO Plans The Plan office and STAR Center will be closing on Thursday, September 7 at 12:00 p.m. and will remain closed until the storm has safely passed the surrounding area.
